Social Media Terms of Use
The University of Queensland values social media as a space to share experiences, learn from others and build camaraderie in an online community. We encourage social media use for teaching and learning, fostering positive relationships, and taking part in respectful discussion and academic debate. We welcome contributions to our social media platforms from the public and the UQ community, as long as they contribute to a safe and vibrant online community.
UQ’s diverse community includes professional and academic staff, stakeholders, students, alumni and future students. Content posted by our community members or the wider public to our social media accounts is the opinion of the poster and does not necessarily represent UQ. The University does not necessarily review every item posted by others to its accounts, or from other accounts where it is tagged or mentioned.
When posting to a UQ account, please respect other users and be aware that our accounts may be accessed by minors. Make sure your contributions are suitable for all ages and do not post content that:
- is unauthorised commercial solicitations (such as spam)
- bullies, intimidates, or harasses
- is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or that contains graphic or gratuitous violence
- is unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory
- UQ reserves the right, but is not obligated, to remove comments that don’t meet these guidelines or are otherwise off-topic or offensive to our audience. If you see content that offends you as a user, please report it using that particular social media platform’s system, and notify the social media account’s administrator.
